A mechanic I would like to add to the Alex the Dumbass (and possibly other) series is audience feedback and participation. An element that can highlight certain aspects of the story while complaining about others. Creating an in-world meta element which will impact the story’s focus and features.

The Fighting Fantasy Classics (on Steam) added the fiftieth fantasy this week: Return to Firetop Mountain. I discuss my playthrough a bit and give a general review. Spoilers will be marked and/or obfuscated.
Though I am a bit passed my experimenting with divination and traditional oracles, I thought it might be interesting to explore them in the context of solo rpgs. I have started adding some to the site. Up first is tarot cards and runes.
Playing games takes time. Solo Play with RPGs and other tabletop can shave some of the time in principle, but in practice there are all sorts of ways that the sharing can dramatically increase time.

I was supposed to be playing The GLOW but I spent my solo play time crafting up a fairly basic, but broadly “all purpose” character sheet for my upcoming Dwarven Halls Campaign.
I am going to take a stab (PUN!) at playing through the new Advanced Fighting Fantasy: Dwarven Halls campaign. It should scratch too itches: to play a longer-form solo campaign based off of pre-written material and to return to Ick + Humb.
Just dropping a quick shout out to Bundle of Holding’s Outgunned bundle. It is a great game.
It does not matter how long you have been playing solo games, or what types, there comes a time where you can figure out new ways to trust yourself with the process and let some go of some degree of control without stressing yourself.
