Johnny and Lanette try to reach Billy but Billy is at Thornrose, a child care facility where every caretaker and child disappeared decades ago. And the swamp does not want Johnny to approach. At Thornrose, Billy cares for an injured Jayson while meeting his new allies. He also cannot shake the sense that something is using them all as playthings.
Johnny and Lanette regroup and meet Upton's family. Then, as they prepare to dive back into the mystery and start getting things accomplished, they meet a surprise person. A surprise person with a surprise gift.
Upton is about to call his family when his family shows up to find him. Elsewhere, Billy and Jayson quickly realize just how dangerous the game is and how evil some players are going to be. And still elsewhere, Johnny and Lanette are in over their heads. Like always, only much worse.
As Billy and Upton's group realize that Lanette is missing, they receive an unexpected knock on the door. Elsewhere, Johnny and Lanette need to find safety. Only the Kid is not yet done playing games. Both groups are starting to figure out the enormity of their respective tasks, but neither side is backing down.
Johnny has escaped the cultists, for now, and follows a cryptic message about "Hamburger Helper" to meeting up with Tanya Green. The two are going to the Fourth of July celebrations. Only they are not alone. Lanette is also at the park. As is a eco-terrorist group. And Upton Reece's family. And a strange pale creature who is seeming to take an interest in Johnny's actions.
The time has come to move "Agent Johnny Blue vs The Kid" to an actual play series and to help make that happen, the shift to using Mythic has started. I talk about some starting threads and characters, and also about using various features lists in different ways. I also introduce Dixit (using the expansion, Mirrors) to the campaign and to the blog.
